The movie is wonderful, but Dennis Quaid is much too old to play the father. He looks as if he should be the grandmother’s husband. I don’t have anything against him. I thought he was so handsome as a younger man. Young Ricky is so completely believable. This young actor can say so much with just his eyes. I heartily recommend this movie.

I loved the movie, but hated the hair dye job on Joe Rantz. I could tell when I watched the commercial on TV. It bothered me all through the movie. Very unnatural. At one point Joe raises his arms after a victory and he has black pits. Details matter!

I really enjoyed watching this series. The sets, characters, wardrobes and story lines were compelling. My only drawback was how whiny Beatrice seemed. I wanted to slap her out of it.

This film isn’t even close to getting one star. I read the Padre Pio book by Ruffin and couldn’t make heads or tail of the movie. It could have been great if it contained even 1/10 of Padre Pio’s life. I wanted to see Shia Labeouf’s portrayal of the saint. His character wasn’t even in the film for 3/4 of the time. I didn’t know what I was watching. This movie is a propaganda film for communism, and very poorly done. Shia, I have the feeling that your work ended up on the cutting room floor. Sorry.

Loved the story and locations. I wished Andy Garcia would have tried to not sound so American. Disappointing for an actor. The boy who played St. Jose was phenomenal.
