Okay, I wish I can butter you up since “Planet of the Apes” by far has been one of my favorite movie series ever but it wouldn’t be truthful so here’s my honest opinion. This movies is a$$, it takes us 300 years after war and Caesar’s death. Basically tribes of advanced apes are everywhere. Some tribes have heard of Caesar and some have not. Some Apes live by his rules in his remembrance . Other tribes try to live by his rules but misrepresent them making cults or “Caesar Religions”. One ape leader who claimed to be a new “Caesar” took it upon himself to destroy another apes tribe simply because they did not want to join them and eliminate humans. This new “Caesar” destroyed their tribe took their members as prisoners to over work them so they can help him open an advanced human bunker from the past. Blah blah blah sums it up. Here’s where I’m disappointed… After “WAR PLANET OF THE APES” Caesar freed his tribe and got them to new land along with a baby son “Cornelius” still alive. I thought maybe a continuation of the tribe in the new land following his sons life, the remembrance of his fathers legacy and maybe him struggling to be a leader but then living up to his father’s expectations. To be fair we just lost Caesar in the last movie… why not make this one more meaningful you know. I don’t mind them going years ahead but make it interesting this version of the apes was just boringly bad and based off the conquering of new religions. Nevertheless, I say “KINGDOM PLANET OF THE APES” is not worth paying, watch it free like me that way if you don’t like it you don’t have to feel bad for spending money on it. 3/10 - 1/5 STARS
