I absolutely loved this movie. Lol

Seeing all of Black Clovers familiar faces was a good first start when entering the movie. You get introduced to a group of villains that fit the standard villain trope that inevitably carry baseless reasonings that seems to be the polar opposite of Astas belief. Throughout the entire movie, none of the characters really develop or struggle at all. You watch the movie knowing that friendship will ultimately beat the villains "weak worth ethic" because you're stronger in a group than alone, blah blah. Fighting scenes are a little bit cool but nothing out of the ordinary, especially if you've watched the anime. There just isn't much depth to the actual movie. And I know there technically isn't much depth in the anime too but there was definitely space to play with the universe or with the antagonists powers. They just never end up feeling like threats though.
After coming from other animes, like One Piece, it's hard to really expect much from a mainstream anime like this. If you're just looking to continue watching the Black Clover universe or want a basic hero beats villain anime then you'll find this movie decently enjoyable.
