WHAT WORKED: - Kelendria Rowland's chocolate gorgeousness. 😍 - Kelly's hair and wardrobe. (Slayyyy!) - the artfulness of the body-paint sex scene. - RonReaco Lee's acting (frankly, he should have played the husband or the artist instead) WHAT DIDN'T: wheeeew! Where do I even begin?! - Bottom line: this felt like a wannabe "Fifty Shades" meets "A Fall from Grace". - The plot was underwhelming and simply not believable. Full of plotholes and the story felt rushed. - The dialogue was just...awkward. - Trevante Rhodes had ZERO presence... his character felt flat and robotic and monotonous. (I'm guessing he was trying to convey dark/troubled/mysterious, but honestly, he looked and sounded bored) - The "Maddy" character's accent was ridiculous - The mum's hair?! Seriously? Why are we still seeing awful, helmet-looking wigs in TP movies in 2024?!

I absolutely ADORE this movie. Sister Act is fun and funny and chock-full of upbeat, catchy songs that stay with you after 30 years (speaking from personal experience). A light-hearted, feel-good, rewatchable cinematic delight. Whoopi was phenomenal, as were Dame Maggie Smith and the rest of the cast. I watched it as a kid in the 90s with my dad and look forward to watching with my kids as a mum. 💕 Easily a generational treasure!

A must-see and must-see-often! Regardless of your personal religious inclinations, you'll find this to be a beautifully told and heartwarming movie. It's the kind of movie that speaks to the heart of humanity, against the backdrop of the power of divinity. I laughed, I cried, I was moved, I was convicted. We need more movies like this. Humanity needs more movies like this.
