Although I think people comparing it to GOT is a mistake. The writing for the songs of ice and fire. Each chapter was one characters point of view, like a soap opera type of show. The witcher is from the perspective of mainly the protaganists. You have to judge it based on its style, which I would say is closer to a star wars type narrative.
