This book is exhaustive. It is written in the context that by and large the Brits and especially Monty knew what they were doing, and if they didn't they learned as they went along. It's a PR book for the Brits. Apparently D-Day was a smashing success, when it was actually an unmigitated disaster, also losing 200,000 men was a steal because the Germans lost 300,000 men. Actually it's not too bad a book, but could use more balance and less how wonderful the Brits were. I do wonder where all the wonderful equipment they had came from?
