Uneven Roast of Tom Brady. Show lasted WAYYYYY to long. Same running time as Doctor Zhivago! And that at least covered the Russian Revolution and war! Some of the pro comics were great. Everybody keeps mentioning Nikki Glazer and she was, by far, the best roaster of the long night. Kevin Hart was funny in spots, but mainly just darted around the stage and audience and ended up being fairly mean spirited in his material. A good roast combines the decent jokes with the mean shots and it's often a very tight balance to make the two come together as one. Most of the football players bombed, but that's okay, they aren't really supposed to kill on a roast dais. Another problem was that since the original airing was live, the show seemed to have no real flow to it. At times, comedians like Hart were just wandering around the audience since something wasn't quite ready to go on when it was supposed to. Also, just TOO many people roasting Brady. 6 or 7 comedians would have been great, but you had comedians, football players, scrubby D-list celebs like Kim Kardashian, etc. The Israeli war lasted less time than this roast. Seems much tighter in its edited form now on Netflix, but still way to long and boring. Same jokes over and over. My advice- watch a half hour of it a night until it is finished. Watch it in one sitting and you WILL fight with the significant other the next morning!
