Watched this with English subtitles. If you can absorb the story from the POV of an orphaned girl then it won’t seem gross or weird as other reviews would suggest. Loved the end credits song Elisa, Elisa, Elisa. I believe this movie propelled Vanessa Paradis’ career as a singer/actress, though she did not contribute to that catchy song in any way in this movie

I feel that DARK has some plots stretched too far and is overall spread thin over many characters thus preventing us to emotionally invest in any particular character. I had to frequently look up on wiki to understand who's who by looking at their family tree which is nicely shown on wiki. This is not a TV series for leisurely viewing, be prepared to get blown off with twists and paradoxes. I think the geeks amongst the viewers, like me, are not going to be impressed with the sci-fi logic in this series. Nevertheless it keeps you hooked all the way till the end.
