I have been watching this show for the past 4 years and I must say it has really shaped me and who I am today. I'd say i grew up watching this show since I started in sixth grade and I am now a sophomore! I've always wondered why I always felt a strong connection and respect to Hispanic culture. I've finally realized as I was watching the last episode and the send off that it was this show that was responsible for my love of the culture, I just get the warmest feeling seeing all the traditions and hearing abuela speak Spanish and seeing all the vibrant colors and seeing the difficulties one may face because of where they come from. In this day and age I feel it is so important for people to watch this show and see the immigration issue in a real life situation. This show has taught me to love and have a greater understanding of life. It has showed me that I need to have deep connections with the ones I love, and to never give up on my dreams. This show has lead me to believe that everything in life happens for a reason and that everything that has happened in my upbringing has brought me to where I am in my life today and will shape me to who I will be in the future. Definitely watch this show if you are thinking about it! It for sure played a huge role in my life and has lead me to the decision to major in Spanish!
