Why did they remake this masterpiece? It's like Netfix called Chris Columbus to remake "Citizen Kane". It's flat, the pace isn't quick like the original, this A list cast does not have the talent of the off-Broadway actors who populated the original, and the weird censorship of gay slang from the era and the using of the word "cis" take it out of it's period. Why? Just watch the 1970 film.
