It was part of my last year school Rapid reader and we were all about 15-16 year old boys. Our English teacher used to read out one chapter in every period of English and used to explain the events etc. We used to be so engrossed that for some time we used to have a feeling that the character of Mr Chips is non other than our own teacher. The year was 1971-72 and we were in the X class which was equal to earlier matriculation exam. I still have the memories of last few lectures and I remember all of us really wept at the death of Mr Chips in the novel.
