I was very impressed in the Ukrainian history part of Turhan Hatice's birth as Ukrainian, taken as a captive slave of 10 - 12 years of age to Crimea and then given as a gift to the Sultans' Harem in Constantinople .. . and how she became to be recognized as an official regent having supreme control over the Ottoman Empire and the fact that that she was the natural mother of Mohmed IV
