Messy, complicated. So worth it. The subplot of 2 gay men living with the constant danger of homophobia is more real than almost anything ever filmed. And Millie - don’t get too close but call her when you need her.

OMG. Contrived. Bloated. Very “Mutder She Wrote”

Plot is all over the place. Particularly annoyed by the cop who forged evidence w/o consequences or explanation. Dubbing is really terrible. Oh and there are twelve in the jury and in the title but we only hear from 6 1/2 of them. LONG LONG shots of people riding in cars and arriving home. I binged the whole thing (at 1.25 speed) because I am a sucker for mystery. One of the worst.

No center. Mishmash of genres and ideas. Flat and predictable. Written for sequel.

First I gave it 3 because I really did not like the music or pacing. But then I saw that the 1 star reviews were from homophobes. Went back and added a star. The gay angle is true and well presented.

This incredible story explores another ethnic atrocity that is known by few aside from the victims. American citizens who were of Japanese origin were deported to Japan during WWII. The trauma reverberates down generations.
