I have mixed feelings about this series. Really enjoyed the start, as it has a more dynamic and interesting energy and the chemistry between the two leads was palpable and believable. They kept up this chemistry well through the whole series actually. But the storyline kept jumping around, with nonsensical reasons for the leads separating leaving you scratching your head and rolling your eyes. Time lapses were handled terribly, jumping all over the place and often unclear. It really fell apart with the S&M storyline and it seems everyone just became extremely miserable and the show was just a big, depressed sigh for a while. Then, after a while, I felt the leading couple had finally made the transition into a mature and balanced relationship at last, only to end on a ridiculous note. ***SPOILERS*** So he decided to go to New York but she, after travelling and moving abroad throughout the series, decided she now wants to be a homebody and will stay. And they won’t do long distance, they’ll break up? So more misery and trauma then? Made no sense at all! Just an excuse to have a miserable ending. Also not realistic. Loads of very graphic sex scenes and full frontal nudity, just a heads up for anyone who may not like that. Also very triggering themes of depression, suicide etc… Well acted, definitely watchable but not always an easy or enjoyable watch. I enjoyed some of it, was bored and frustrated by the storyline in other parts and found the ending unsatisfactory. Not terrible, not great, it hovers somewhere in the middle for me.

I’ve given this movie 2 stars instead of 1 purely because it started with promise. Decent acting and the plot really gave the impression that it was going somewhere interesting. Was sadly let down though by the ending, which became completely ludicrous. It was pointless chaos, a town full of violent sex offenders, a terrifying scenario for any woman - this movie seems to offend both men and women alike. It also paints Australia in the worst possible light. Horrible. A movie with no real message. You never find out what anyone’s story is nor what happened to the previous women. I’ve never known a movie to drop so many plot leads. It gives the impression of being a thriller about a serial killer in a remote country town but ends with no storyline truly explored nor concluded and two unbalanced and traumatised women burning a hotel to the ground. The ending made no sense at all and leaves you feeling confused and unsatisfied. And extremely irritated. What a waste of time.

This movie was unwatchable, it was that bad. I’ve never cringed so hard. “Cringe Hard” - a much more appropriate title. Went in hoping for something decent as Nina was good in her role in Vampire Diaries but was genuinely disappointed with this terrible Christmas movie. I think maybe Vampire Diaries was just right for her and she really just has not found anything since that suits. It happens to some popular series actors. Really weak plot, script, acting and directing. Not worth the time spent watching it, don’t put yourself through it!

I wanted to like this film but found myself skipping scenes they were so cringe worthy & ridiculous. The leading actress is talented but let down by the script. David Spade is an unbelievable but likeable leading guy. Women fighting over him? I just couldn’t see it. It definitely has funny moments but they are outweighed by the ludicrous & even offensive scenes which drag on too long. Ultimately it tried too hard & missed most of the time but had some funny scenes. Missable film all round.
