I made it halfway through the second episode. I couldn't stomach anymore of it. If you are looking for hard on the science side of science fiction, this ain't it chief. The first episode is jam packed with contrivance after contrivance to ramp up tension that is immediately taken away if you give whichever scene is on screen at the time a second of thought.
This is supposed to be the near future but literally half of their problems that pop up within the first 20 minutes could have been solved or avoided with a cell phone or short range walkie talkie, a couple of cameras and motion detectors. I get there is supposed to be something going on with the ship and they've got one shot at connecting with whatever it is they're aiming to hook up with, but really, the whole BS with how they handle things and the sheer lack of even MILDLY realistic protocols kills what is otherwise a nifty premise.
