Stockholm syndrome "romance". I bought this because of a booktok review and I regret it. It's an empty book full of ridiculous stereotypes. There's grape (it's notified before you start reading the book at least).
it's like the Beauty and the Beast if Beast sent everyone to kill Belle and then for no reason besides "her beauty", he falls possesively "in love" with her.
Don't waste your money like I did.

I don't understand why this show is so liked. It's a cringey stereotypical view of US with latin parents household. It promotes the toxic traits of latinos while spitting on Cuban history. It also expands the lie that the US is better. This show wasn't written by an actual latino.

If you read the book first, skip the movie. The adaptation is very weak. Key important things were left out. Just... read the book.
They changed Ilsa's story and gave it to Max basically. They took Rosa's evolution away and made her seem she didn't care that much for Max. Rudy's character has been demoted on the film. It's a terrible adaptation.
