Pine Shimmer

I always thought that the ending of the movie was a great segue into a television series with Cyndi Lauper, Jeff Goldblum, and Peter Falk solving crimes and mysteries. I love the movie and James Horner soundtrack. This is a thrill ride of a movie that moves quickly. Lots of action, lots of humor that is surprisingly not out dated, and a little romance too. Cyndi is so petite and Jeff is so tall, and yet this odd ball pairing is so compelling to watch on screen. The Ecuador scenes were spectacular and the special effects still hold up even against today's digital landscape. If your looking for a smile, this movie is for you.

the acting is questionable and the music is intrusive. This is no Harry Potter, no matter how hard they try to convince me otherwise.

Brilliant movie with mature themes about abandonment and loss, acceptance and redemption. The music is hauntingly beautiful and Sarah Brightman wrote lyrics to There Is No One Like You.

This movie still haunts me to this day and I am always leery of unlit fireplaces. I haven't seen the film in over 30 years, so I don't remember if the acting is as bad as some of the other films of the era like Phantasm, and It's Alive. I loved the 70's movies like Amityille Horror, Jaws, Carrie, Burnt Offerings, Omen, Exorcist, and anything with Vincent Price (60's). For the longest time, I thought Karen Black was in this movie, but it is Kim Darby. The Turning of the screw with Patsy Kinset is also a really one of the era. Hope to see it again soon.

All star cast, authentic period costumes, superb acting and directing, good music and sound score and our introduction to the "glad game".

The movie is great, Townsend makes a much better Lestat because he isn't afraid of his sexuality and Aaliyah as Akasha is a formidable ally/foe. I watch at least once a year. It is one of my all time go to movies. If Anne Rice would make Memnoch the Devil, that may change, but for now, my damned queen will have to do.

The mysterious magician is a mix of Wonka (the chocolate factory) and Howl (moving castle). I never knew how beautiful the Korean language was and find myself listening to the original cast with subtitles. The songs are first rate. Just like the Beast asking Belle every night after dinner (original story, not Disney), the magician asks, "Do you believe in magic?" the answer is YES! It may only be six episodes and but each is like a little hour long movie. A lot disappointed the digital soundtrack is almost $40.

Sex in the City meets Devil Wears Prada. Darren Star has another hit under belt. Paris is beautiful, cast is engaging, and the plot is enjoyable. As Emily told the boys in the office, let them eat cake!

This is one the worst movies I have ever seen and that includes Howard the Duck. Costumes, scenery, and music create a decent ambiance but the editing and directing leaves much to be desired. It tries to hard to be clever and artistic; but alas, it falls like a tree in the woods: thud!
