The sequel is as great as the first movie from the themes, to the visual arts, and character growth. I found it interesting how they managed to take a design meant for a Disney+ show and made it into a well layed out film. Thats not an easy task. However, some parts of the film did seem to be a little too predictable as it was targeted towards the younger audience with the exception of some hidden dark themes. As for the musical number, I have to say that the removal of Miranda was a major mistake towards this franchise as many of the new songs and ost's were forgettable. It didnt stick out like the first film and felt rushed this time. The ending of the film also seems like Disney's tactic on being able to create more films regarding Moana. Overall this film felt like the middle ground of the franchise and I cant wait to see what they will come up with next with the hope it will stay unique like the first film.

I was really excited to see this movie and had high hopes that it would be as well as the previous one, however, this film just seemed to lack honestly towards emotions. In almost every scene they made anxiety the "bad guy" when in reality anxiety can be a very important role in keeping you safe and healthy. Apart from that, I'm pretty sure that the writers were forced to change their story halfway as puberty doesn't always hit as embarrassing/chaotic as they portrayed Riley's to be. They made her character over the top without really diving into the details onto why shes behaving that way like they did with the first Inside Out. Also, if you pay close attention to the film, you notice that the plot is exactly the same as the first one as the "main" emotions go missing and Riley just has to manage without them till they return. Except this time, only anxiety was the center of the film. Everyone else was just there to make the kids happy in the theater. Waste of an opportunity for Pixar

Saw this during the Premier date but forgot to review on it. The movie was fantastic! A bit fast paced but reasonable considering the budget. The MIA for the furious five was disappointing, but Po was able to bring it back by making this a movie more about self awareness and his future. While I personally didnt like Awkwafina's acting in this, her character was something we needed to see in the Kung fu panda series as Po needed a to meet a anti hero who would trick him into realizing the reality of his role. Spoiler alert, nobody knows who he is outside of his hometown which really made him think about his actions. The bunnies were questionably dark but humorous. Po's father needed to be something more than a comedic relief, I feel like thats something the writers should have worked on more. Shifu needed more screentime seeing how he is Po's mentor. The chameleon was "sigh" horrible character design/writing. Everything about her was so weak that I have no idea why the design team decided to stick with her and please, if your going to make this your biggest installment get better VA's. The chameleons voicelines throughout the movie was so boring (Like wheres the sense of threat? I dont feel anything when shes on screen) and Awkwafina's is being used too much in Hollywood at this rate. Other than that, the movie was fun to watch.

- For Disney's 100th anniversary movie, I got to agree with the other critics when they say that this film was delivered poorly. Disney missed their opportunity by not listening to their creative artists when the concept was being created. It would have served as a better story but no, they preferred something more marketable. Well, look at it now, its a flop in the box office. Asha is a character who acts like the classical yet petty Disney princess starting from the 2010's whos design would have been better if the initial concept for her was done. Valentino was not needed, rather he feels like a character served to entertain the adults who got dragged by their children to watch the film. The background design was constantly clashing with the 3d design of the characters. It would have been better if they served this movie like the classical Disney movies before 3d design. Lastly, Star should have been a character! Instead of making it an actual person star was presented as a plushie-like design so that Disney could profit off of it. + Bonus, the music and songs were beautifully composed. The only issue was that there was WAYYY too many for the length of the movie.
