Like Boyle's take on urban poor on what can possibly get a "slumdog" to become a millionaire in this country, Sudhir Mishra's Serious Men gives us a dalit protagonist, slaps him not the means but the trappings of aspiration and leaves him to grapple with his material conditions. Boyle's gave us three musketeers. One that gets embedded with crime. One who's trapped into it. And one who has to get lucky to be able to get away. Watch what Mishra's characters do.
