From what I’ve read from other reviews of this book, you either love it or you think it was a waste of your time. I didn’t watch the movie, but I heard it wasn’t good. I figured I’d read the books since movies can ruin awesome books (aka Eragon, Percy Jackson). I finished this book and I have no intentions to ever read the next ones in the series. I’m giving this book 2 stars because there is a story and plot, but I hated the characters and never was able to emotionally connect with any of them. I also thought the main character Tom was a total wimp. This just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Great movie my son loved it and we’ll be buying it when it comes out. I liked it as much as I liked Despicable Me, but I also loved all the references to the games that I played growing up.

I don’t recommend watching this in theaters. While there were points I enjoyed, I don’t ever see myself watching this movie again. I was hoping for a great action movie, but instead got a comedy. The comedy in a lot of cases was more stupid and dumb than it was funny (i.e. the god of dumplings…. seriously?). Overall I’d give it a 3/10.
