I think it really tells the story of how humanity as a race is slowly killing itself with our tendencies to overuse the resources that emit harmful subsistence into the atmosphere causing rapid climate change. it seems to me that the band is very aware of this problem. It makes it's listeners more aware of this as well. it tells the story of our impending demise, and maps it out, hence the name, Death Atlas. Thats all i have really... All in all, the musicians truly did a great job with this one. The brutal riffs and blastbeats. They really did well this time.
