Zero character development. 30 seconds of typed backstory in the opening minute of the movie is all you get before you are thrust into a crazy circus of events. Had I not been there with friends I was ready to walk out of the theater in the first 20 to 30 minutes like I saw others do. A little over halfway into the movie I was grateful that the movie improved somewhat but this was only after a very long adjustment period. Man of Steel and all previous Superman movies were 10 times the quality of movie than this comical version we just left the theater chastising ourselves for being so eager to go see in the first place.
