A Mandatory Must Watch! An Easy 5/5* (DONT WORRY - NO SPOILERS!) Have just moments ago finished watching this film after only just days ago stumbling apon the movie trailer by chance which interested me due to the all star cast promising to give a readaptation to the ancient story of the Genie in a lamp, love & magic but not the Disney cartoon version instead a much needed narration for adults & mature minded young adult audience which the original story was intended. Tilda Swanson often plays roles in unusual or theatrical roles that can be sometimes deep or hard to udderstand for some but even if your not a fan (which I am) I could recommend this film. Tilda is just perfect for this leading role & is flawless, that also goes for Idris Elba as the Genie. I could really feel their characters connection. Im not sure if I just understood it on a slightly different level due to the fact I already have a very good understanding of both British English & Middle Eastern Arabic mythology & folklores? But it's nothing a simple Wikipedia search couldn't help with, even encourage for those interested. I don't understand these reviews here of 2* or 7.1/10 where we not watching the same film? This reminds me when stories & films took hard work & depth to tell which is becoming further & far between only better due to vast improvements in Cinematography. So if your looking for the typical brain-melt-jargon that's been done 100 times before then give this one a miss as the stories message will go right over your 5sec attention span mentally. In summary, this film is like a good book you can curl upto at night with a bowl of ice-cream in fount of the fire but instead you can share it with your special someone. A life long love would make for the perfect company for this flick or on your own to ignite your feelings for love <3
