This was pretty good. This adaptation of Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series doesn't religiously adhere to the source material in the books (which is sort of understandable because it is a vast series with 15 books, each one averaging over 800 pages). Even so, the show manages to capture a good part of the spirit of Jordan's vast and richly diverse world. I thoroughly enjoyed watching my favorite book series brought to the screen. Rosamund Pike's portrayal of Moiraine is superb. Some of the writing needs some improvement. My major disappointment involves the CGI/visual effects. I hope they improve this for season 2, the release of which I eagerly await.
