Overall I liked it. However, there are two things I actually hated which spoiled things for me. First the manufactured decision between needy flippers was unnecessary. I felt sorry for most of the people who were rejected. After hearing how troubled they were the brother just moved on. Based on their stories I was disappointed in some of their choices. Which brings me to the deal breaking last episode and my biggest problem with this Program. Backing that kid was an obvious mistake. He wasnโt gonna listen and it was obvious from the first meeting. But they โidentifiedโ with him and everything went exactly the way I thought it wouldโฆactually worse. Being an educator and someone who understands basic human nature, the brothers proceeded to show all us viewers how enablers behave when presented with teaching opportunities. They caved at every opportunity, supporting the kid in ways that almost seemed like they were trying to do the wrong thing. The brothers went into detail many times how they learned the hard wayโฆthey shared this with the kid and he displayed classic passive aggressiveness almost like he had written the text book on the subject. The brothers cushioned every bad decision until, at the end, they basically patted him on the back telling him how great it wasโฆand how great he was. THENโฆ.they stated for the record that he had learned from his mistakes. I almost couldnโt believe that was said. What happened was the kid used the brothers who, oh by the way, wonโt be around the next time when this way too ambitious youngster goes too far because he didnโt learn anything. I like watching their shows butโฆI canโt help but believing that these guys should drop any thoughts of doing another season.
Someone please try to help these two guys to understand a single, powerful fact of lifeโฆ.never place yourself between a person and his deserved consequences. That is how you learn.
New Property Brothers show: How to Mentor or Here, Let Me Do It
The brothers find idiots who are about to go under from doing one stupid thing after another. Spend about 30 mins telling them about how you learned the hard way followed by completely turning their project around. Spend the last 5 mins declaring how much the idiots have learned without actually letting them display even one learned concept.
Has this been done alreadyโฆ..cause it kinda sounds familiar.
