The movie was alright. It wasn’t bad, but I just felt it could’ve been so much better. I feel like a 3/5 is fitting. The graphics were excellent, as expected. Although, I feel some of the characters looked different, like Asta for example. He just seemed older, but Yuno looked the same to me. Still, it was entertaining, but I’m gonna lost what aspects brought it down from a 5/5 for me. I wasn’t a big fan of a lot of the music choice. It could just be me, but I almost got Star Wars vibes from some of the fight scenes. I am in agreement with a lot of the other reviews regarding the villains. I know not all villains need a backstory but I strongly feel these four did. Especially since they were ALL the good guys at some point. They say the kingdom is beyond redemption and corrupt. But I’m confused on why they feel that way. Conrad made a comment at one point about Julius not being a good Wizard King and he referenced his battle with the elves. So does that mean Conrad was still aware of what was going on in the outside world while he was sealed? And, if so, wouldn’t he have seen how well the Magic Knights unite in times of crisis? Overall, the motivation of our “villains” was just too vague. Another thing that intrigues me is HOW DID CONRAD BRING THEM BACK FROM THE DEAD?!! That’s a pretty big thing, and if this is canon with the anime series, how is it never mentioned? This is supposedly AFTER the war with the elves, but BEFORE they go to train in the Heart Kingdom. So that means they would’ve just finished fighting a war where the whole freaking premise was BRINGING A RACE BACK TO LIFE. It just left me so confused how that’s just brushed over. Lastly, I just don’t feel like the power levels match up. If you pay attention, the only previous Wizard Kings that are actually defeated are Conrad, and the ice guy (forgot his name). So you expect me to believe Mageoleona couldn’t defeat her opponent, but NOELLE finished off the ice guy. And this is before Noelle goes to the heart kingdom to hone her magic. And if you wanna say that chess piece villain (sorry, forgot her name too) was more powerful than ice guy, that means the barrier guy was more powerful than Mageoleona’s opponent because 3 captains and Yuno couldn’t defeat him. The strength just isn’t making sense to me, especially since this is set BEFORE they all go for training in the heart kingdom.

Sayaka is extremely annoying in my opinion. And there are just sooo many holes in the story. I honestly think people just liked the art style of the fighting scenes.

The show overall is a wonderful concept, but human greed and malice really ruined the execution. Both seasons had some horrible pairs in them, who chose to have temper tantrum’s and score low instead of being honest. Season 1 definitely had a better concept in my opinion. I liked that their were two separate groups and that the final round consisted of a mix between both groups. I will say, I don’t think that judging the guests were a good idea because it leaves a big opportunity to just be spiteful, which some were. Season 2 had a less favored structure. Only four pairs total combined with a cash value prize of 100,000 was a bad recipe to begin with. I think if you’re going to continue with season 2’s structure, it needs to be strangers staying in the instant hotels. It wasn’t a way to appreciate other styles and homes as much as it was conniving planning. Throughout both seasons though, I felt the host’s judging was not up to par. I think everything relies too much on the pairs and the hosts scores were just there to make sure there were no ties. For the feedback that was given verbally it often, in my opinion, didn’t match the score given. I think the hosts are very high in their scoring and don’t actually score as they should. It’s clear because they give certain hotels that are clearly NOT on the same level, the same score in certain categories. That makes me think they do their score based on what the pairs said, not based on what they actually think.
