This film was horrible to the 10th power. They were trying wayyy too hard to push the diversity, equity and inclusion agenda which seems to be the focus these days. It went from watching a nice little family working together to figure out how to defeat these creatures in the first 2 films to watching this self loathing black woman dying of cancer whose only mission in the movie was to get pizza who happens to run into a white guy portrayed to be stupid and lost in need of a black female savior and this cat that never โmeowsโ not once. I guess the first 2 movies was โtoo whiteโ but guess what? At least it made sense! It was family oriented, and they worked towards a TRUE purpose. Iโm glad I saw this movie on a day where the tickets were half off. Itโs not even worth spending that much. Wish I had just waited until it gets on HBO Max and skip the going to the movies altogether. Only good thing Iโd say were the few jump scenes thatโs basically it.
Oh and by the wayโฆ.the movie doesnโt explain fully how the creatures came to the earth or why?! Isnโt that the point of calling it โday oneโ so frustrating to watch as many other people mention below. I had high expectations because of the first two movies so it really feels like a rip off.
