I thought it was definitely a good remake, especially because of the fact that it was DreamWorks very first live action remake. For that reason I definitely give them props. And also because compared to the other remakes that Disney has been making, the HTTYD remake is definitely better. There are however a few things I didn’t like about the remake. One of which is fairly obvious, the scene after Hiccup and Toothless landed and the Terrible Terrors hung out with them and Hiccup finds out that dragons aren’t dangerous and actually aren’t fireproof on the inside, I was upset that that scene was cut. Another thing that I didn’t love about the remake was Astrid, I know that in the original she was kind of intense, but the remake bought it to a whole new level. In the beginning it almost slightly seemed like Astrid was threatening to k*** Hiccup and try to take his spot on the thrown. I didn’t love her character because she just brought her original intenseness to a whole new level. But besides those two things I thought the remake wasn’t too bad.
