This is one of the most beautifully written books I’ve ever read. Betty Smith’s brilliant narrative made me feel as if I were living in Williamsburg Brooklyn during the early 20th century ! Francie and her family came alive in my mind and more importantly, in my heart. What a wonderful gift this book is to us. This book was published a year before I was born and I had never read it before. I’m so thankful that I have now done so!
