Crikey, the mind boggles. No punctuation some readers cry; oh no, he uses words we have not come across others whinge. They were not well read enough to take on this book. Forget their nonsense for this is an epic in every sense of the word. You need to read it more than once, not because it's a hard read but because the content is so satisfying and food for the brain. Word placement is the best I've come across, (meaning use of the right word), no filler to speak of, descriptive prose to marvel at, and this on nearly every page. You need to digest what you are reading, take it easy, don't rush, the scenes imparted to us here are deep with imagery that blows the mind. "a personal favourite?" the meeting "high up on the switchbacks" of the donkeys laden with quicksilver. Or a cry of anguish so stark it can rend the universe mute.
Try it on for size.
