For me, Howl's moving castle is by far the best animated movie I have watched in a while. If you're looking for an animated fantasy movie with more story, then this is for you. Firstly, it has great animation! As usual, Studio Ghibli never disappoints when it comes to animation. Studio Ghibli has been famous since a long time because of the said animation. That just proves how great the animation is. Second, it breaks many stereotypes, such as Gender roles (Howl, who defies the expectation for most males), Compassion (Shows that people can change for the better), and many more. Though the movie is a fantasy movie with a bit of dark and creepy topics for young children, it has many Christian values, such as selflessness, kindness, forgiveness, Embracing who you are, Beauty is about kindness, etc. As it's said in Ephisians 4;32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." In conclusion, I really enjoyed watching Howl's moving castle. I would recommend the film to those who enjoy romance, fantasy, and story. Overall, I'd give it 5 stars!
