I don’t play anything other than career mode so this review is just career mode specific. UI: The menu is far too complicated with too much to do, the classic fifa used to be simplistic and now it’s almost going into a football manager type game. Some people might like this but for me there’s now too much to do, for example : -Adding position specific coaches - not needed imo. -Specific training plans for players - again not needed. -Development plans - bring back where players naturally progress in their natural position. Gameplay: The gameplay is infuriating with every game feeling the same. No matter how good/bad the opposition is, the games feel the same. Granted some teams sit deeper and are harder to break down but when i have Burnley or Nottingham Forrest playing like prime Barcelona it’s just boring. Often you will feel like you are in a loop of playing the same team you have just played. Sustained attacks are now impossible and it’s like playing playground football one end to the other. Even when you press the quality of passes from the AI and their lack of mistakes (at a good difficulty) makes it impossible to win the ball back high. When the opposition has a corner and you clear it, they’ll just regain possession on the edge of the box and get another shot off, thats just a given. AI never tackles they just jockey so it’s impossible to create a half yard for a shot and on the rare occasion you create a yard, the shot just gets blocked. Impossible to tackle. As soon as you get close to the opponent, they do an inhumane turn and swivel and pass, again unable to turn over the play and sustain attacks. No matter what cpu sliders you out on, nothing changes so don’t even bother doing those. Conclusion: Having played fifa for over 10 years, this is the worst it’s ever been, even with the last few lacklustre games that have been released, fufa has hit a new low. Id suggest not wasting your money on the next release as it’ll just be the same again and worse than the year before. I wont be buying the next game and hope GTA 6 is good otherwise gaming could be done for me.
