Probably my favourite novel that I have read this year and definitely the most original. I can see why it won the Waterstones debut fiction prize. Absolutely top tier historical fiction. Clever, funny and heartbreaking. Lampo, Gelon, Paches and the others will stay with me for a long time. Quite simply a stunning book.
