As a die hard fan of the books, I really like what they have done with the show so far. The core characterisation of the main characters is very well understood and embodied by the cast and the writers. I love that they are focusing on the vulnerabilities and the connection between the characters that it brings- it's very fresh to see the show add to that as an adaptation of the original material. I also love the changes they are bringing with the themes of family and pride with the mythological part. I do agree with some critiques on 1x02 about rushing the scene because of limited screen time. But I think the episodes keep getting better and more importantly, the writing's faith in building up its three main characters with the empathy they deserve has honestly won me over and I really hope it gets renewed because the content just gets better after this season.

It is one of the truly commendable limited series social drama I have watched. It was genuinely enjoyable and thoughtful. Its dark humour perfected the balance between biting but not dismissing/disrespectful. It showed the daily deep rooted misogyny in our society while also acknowledging that you hardly encounter pure evil in real life. The real problem is at all levels of the system. Misogyny, judgement, darkness are rooted in all our minds. There is an amazing cast of male characters to show you both sides of the same coin— anger and empathy; righteousness and abuse. All the actors’ performances are on point and amazing. Vijay Verma!!! the actor you are! And of course my favourite part! the poems that were a genuinely heart wrenching touch 💜
