What I love about this Superman was that he's more true to the comics than the Snyder version. This Superman value all life big or small, just like the comics. He's constantly saving animals in comics. Snyder's version killed easily without a care. Gunn got it right because he actually reads comics. This was the best superhero movie I've seen in a theater. Watching it twice before it leaves theaters.
