Dragon Phillips

Good movie and well acted. Sad ending. I thought several political statements in the movie were one sided and not needed for the story. It would have been a better story if Slim and Queen had their day in court and not killed by trigger happy Police Officers at the end of the movie. I'm a black Police Officer and the movie represents all cops as being trigger happy, bad, indifferent or homicidal. Obviously, there are bad Police Officers or persons out there (as in any profession) but most Officers are regular citizens doing their duty and trying to survive each day. There was one bright spot in the movie where a black Police Officer did not draw his weapon and allows them to drive away from the residence. This would have been a great scene for apprehension by a lone Police Officer, which would have set the stage for the trial.The scene where the young boy shoots a Police Officer was an unnecessary element in the movie. Queen's character is suppose to be a criminal defense lawyer and her actions were counter to everything an officer of the court is expected to do.
