This is one of my all-time favourite books. I have read if four or five times and watched the movie equally as much. This is a rare and raw book that takes you to places most people find too utterly vulnerable and embarrassing to even address to themselves. The imagery is beautiful, yes, the language is wonderfully crafted, yes, and the story is passionate and relatable, yes, but the core of call me by your name, the sparkling light that makes it so special is its honesty. There is not a hard edge inside this book, it is all curved. People who will get the most out of this book are probably more sensible and attuned to their emotions and the world around them, however, even if you wouldn't consider yourself sensitive it is still an incredible book that makes you feel like a seventeen year old living in the glory of an Italian summer. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this book to people close to me would be I do not feel comfortable to as I believe my deep love and connection to this book speaks volumes about me and who I truly am. Absolutely read, it will change you and make you open your heart to everything!!
