A ridiculous fantasy start (Ships sailing in a desert?) and a questionable ending setting up a franchise provide bookends to what is generally a watchable action movie.
Get past the first 10 minutes and it is typical Milla Jovovich gore fest fodder. Sadly, Tony Jaaโs skills are underused and Ron Pearlmanโs character lacks credibility but other than that, a reasonable way to spend 103 minutes.
