I just watched Criminal Justice Behind Closed Doors in Disney Hotstars , Binge watched in fact .Intense , scarily relatable , must watch show ! I was riveted because shockingly - It hit too close to home...it was like watching a series loosely based on my life too ! Kudos to the team , to the director who chose such a storyline for a crime drama - Emotional Abuse is underrated and overlooked much too often in India . Just because it happens behind closed doors with no physical proof to be shown doesnt mean its not happening ! The Show is not a whodunnit but rather a WhyDunnit - A wife stabs her husband in the very first episode and rest of the series is the journey we go along with her lawyers discovering many facets and perspectives ! Its brilliant , need of the hour stuff ...with a strong storyline , Cast and some badass performances. The small lags in screenplay and other cliches can be overlooked . Kirti is brilliant , and our heart goes out to her as the distraught mother and as a woman who has lost her identity ....a victim of abuse who struggles to regain control of her life ... Anupriya Goenka is gorgeous and also heartwarming as the lawyer with empathy and conviction ... But my complete attention was stolen by Pankaj Tripati---What a performer -- sheer joy to watch him on screen in each frame - His diction , quirks , sarcasm , humor , demeanor , subtle expressions --bang on !! And his cute equation with his wife is a delight to watch I have officially become his ardent fan ! Please do watch the series if you like this genre and are open minded to accept Life is not black or white but all shades of grey !
