It's disappointing to see the direction in which SQUARE ENIX has taken Final Fantasy. It's deviating more towards the Devil May Cry style, having lost the essence of Final Fantasy. I'm concerned that this new release will fail to meet expectations just like the Final Fantasy VII remake did. It's perplexing why they wouldn't consider making a Final Fantasy VII game in the style of God of War if they're seeking new avenues. Considering their apparent focus on revenue generation, a Final Fantasy VII gacha game would make sense. It's unfortunate to witness a company once known for its innovation now merely picking up the pieces left by others.
