So disappointing. The acting was good, although no big names for American viewers. The setting interesting, although nothing novel. (Antique, stone, remote manor) The plot was boring. No scares here, no surprises. See it for free, but don't pay to see it.

I found myself increasingly angry watching this film and wondering if Joyce Carol Oates is to blame for the distortions in the facts of Marilyn Monroe's life. While we all know her life began and ended tragically the presentation of her having multiple abortions against her will and the unborn baby psychically begging to not be killed "again" was beyond disturbing. This is just not fact-based and is so overreaching in presenting a political opinion about abortion that I was absolutely stunned and disgusted. Also it is well documented that her actual father wanted nothing to do with his beautiful and successful daughter. To have a centerpiece of the father's voice reaching out to her was so offensive. Making a malevolent, abandoning real life person into some kind of a hero figure. The actress playing Marilyn is incredible, so no fault to her. Again I don't know if the novelist or the director are to blame, but this twisted version of distorting the life of a talented and kind iconic figure just makes me very very angry. Pitching anti-abortion propaganda on top of the lies about her, at Norma Jeane's expense, is absolutely despicable. Somebody should feel ashamed of this film.
