I was so excited to watch this as I have spent decades switching back and forth between vegetarian and omnivore diet and I am a serious athlete. I wanted to know if I can gain muscle mass and prevent fog brain on a plant based diet. What I did not appreciate in this documentary was the hard push towards highly processed, plastic enshrined fake meat alternatives.
Fake meat, fake cheese, fake milk all highly processed and shrouded in plastic is not the way to sell your message that we are killing the earth and ourselves through animal farming. These highly processed meat alternatives often have a much higher caloric content, sodium content and may be difficult to source based on geography and finances.
If you want to demonstrate that farming is bad- do this. If you want to prove that a plant based diet is better- do this with real, whole, fresh, fermented and or pickled goods. Make this easy, achievable, accessible and affordable.
Teach urban gardening, healthy cooking and stick to science and not bias. I don't recall at any point in this series the science looking at the complete science.
We need complete amino acids and iron. My son had weekly infusions from Hypoferritinemia and we started feeding him beef and now his iron is normal again! So be careful with how and what you are promoting. This does not go without consequence and could seriously impact someone's health adversely.
