RE: episode on Sunday 9/15.....a few of the older interviewees (Irwin Winkler is the only name I remember) made a comment on retirement. One of the interviewees - around the age of 90 commented- "who invented the 65 year age for retirement? it's absurd" He did not have a blue collar job....driving in the middle of a crazy metropolis city...working in retail or maybe a mechanic shop....some who drive for delivery services...live parking in a no parking spot to run up three flights of stairs to drop off a package....rush out of the house at 5:45a to catch a 6:15a train into the city...only to rush out to catch the 7p train back home.... He spoke of his "job" that he reports to at a "comfy" chair poolside overlooking the pacific ocean. Also probably travels 4-6 months out of the year. We others struggle day to day and yearn for that 3 week vacation to a location we can't afford but will aim and struggle to get there anyway.
The rest of the working world wants to do what you're doing at the young age of 65 and have worked hard to get there. They have earned it and some sadly don't live to enjoy it because they did not retire in that comfy poolside chair. Know your audience before you preach.
