OK, good acting, fine film-making and all. But after 3 hours building up the stage for a grand finale, ... there is no grand finale! Scorcese chose to present a horrendous vaudeville where the fate of each character is told by an different presenter (including the director himself). In the 1970s, a bunch of movies finished with a few lines telling the summarized story of what happend to the main characters. The vaudeville bit did the same instead of presenting a decent ending to such a long and tiresome film. With the vaudeville act, it became simply annoying!
