A brilliant, tight film. It's not for everyone, it's devastatingly subtle and lacks car chases, blatant plot points and any and all carpet-chewing. But its chronicle of a day in the life of a personal assistant to an unseen movie exec is riveting, if you have the attention span to revel in the nuances. Julia Garner (and the rest of the cast) excel at Kitty Green's minimalist direction. The scene with HR will resonate with anyone who has ever had a soul-destroying encounter with an HR apologist/bureaucrat. Note: those wondering if #metoo has changed anything will be disheartened by the many misogynistic barbs in the one-star reviews.
