This one is special.
It's easy to underestimate and overlook the show because it's an animation, and presenting as a comedy... but.... underneath the fresh comedy, and even badass elements that liken to any proper 80's action movie, there's a deep vein of truth that taps into the collective unconscious, exploring and exposing how the true evils in our world operate: Big Pharma.
It does have the element of fantasy, but not where you'd expect it to be; they mostly only illustrate a character's psychedelic effects, which are still closer to authentic than the usual Hollywood trope.
The show's main message sticks to a sobering verity about the real world global Big Pharma Industry, and the inner workings on the other side of the wool that's pulled over most civilians' eyes. What's so truly refreshing is the subtle way it lands on unspoken truths, the kind that we're all aware of but never expect any official media to ever articulate. Genius.
Can't wait for season 2!
