Had no plans on Saturday so I binged watched all the episodes on Prime at once (maybe not the best idea for most people) but I had time and thought I should weigh in. What's great about it: 1. New, largely unknown but highly skilled actors who look like real people. That was refreshing. 2. Great writing to fill in holes of what would could have been the history before the original series. Very impressed, made sense. 3. Great special effects, new story lines. 4. Presentation of natural locations - beautiful - exceptional videography. What I thought was a bit much: 1. I blame my own generational norm but I think there is just one too many groups they switch back and forth between (I realize we are talking about the whole planets varied cultural existence at the time). Hard for me personally to follow. I realize it will likely all swirl together at the end so I'm sure there is a point but just an observation. 2. I always have reservations about Amazon and the reach of its corporate tentacles but once I got past that, this series has been very entertaining. Very well produced and in no way or form is a waste of anyone's time. If you are a ring fan I think it's loveable.
