Too bad the Republican presidential nominee running in this election shows absolutely none of the love for America, respect for women or backbone against tyrannical autocratic that is depicted in the film. At least Reagan understood the importance of unions, admired the military, praised immigrants and enjoyed nature and animals. And he actually had a sense of humor. The film is a fawning, glossy depiction of a past beloved president that in no way seems connected to a bloated, narcissistic and money-grubbing windbag like Trump.
