I loved this book! I read it after going to a talk by the author. It was so interesting and really gave context to the development of the “new western frontier”. The cruelity that the U.S. government showed to the native tribes is hard to fathom buts it remains a stain this country’s history. It is an excellent yet easy read. If I had to stop reading it to do chores or whatever, I was anxious to get back to the book. Learned a lot about the Nex Pierce tribe. Amazing people!
