A unique book, although a bit depressing for my taste, God of Small Things is very insightful and very thought-provoking. Reading it is an interesting look into someone's brain, their thoughts, and their motivations which most people might not think about. Arundhati Roy's writing style captures the soul of certain Indian experiences, like the "Orangedrink Lemondrink Man" and the "stationsounds" which reflect how the world is experienced differently by different people.
Definitely not for everyone, but this book highlights what literature does best: take you somewhere to see something you might never physically in your life.
